Compare flushing scenarios to estimate water use, variable water bills and water-related CO₂e. Find regional rates by postcode, enter rates from your bill, and export a report.
LESS FLUSHING. LOWER WATER USE.
Compare your current flushing with an editable UriClear scenario.
Illustrative estimates, not guaranteed product performance. The twice-daily example requires a suitable site assessment and a change to the flush controls or operating procedure. Confirm the proposed setting with BIO500 before making changes.
Find the likely local water and sewerage regions, then check the rates against your bill.

Count each shared cistern once, not each urinal it serves.

Water supply + wastewater treatment
| Estimated saving | Annual | Monthly average |
|---|
Monthly averages are annual estimates divided by 12, not measured savings.
Reports include the postcode result, tariff sources, flush settings and calculation assumptions.
Annual litres = number of flushing units × litres per flush × flushes per day × operating days. Savings are the current scenario minus the UriClear scenario. A shared cistern is one flushing unit, even if it serves several urinals. The twice-daily setting is supplied by BIO500 as the UriClear scenario, not independently verified product performance. Achieving the estimate requires the actual flush controller or operating procedure to be changed and maintained.
Carbon savings use the 2026 UK Government factors: 0.19130 kg CO₂e per m³ of water supplied, plus 0.17088 kg CO₂e per m³ of wastewater treated. Flushing water is assumed to discharge fully to sewer. The billing return-to-sewer percentage affects cost only, not this physical carbon calculation. These are national average factors, not local water-company emissions. Product manufacture, delivery, maintenance and blockage-related savings are excluded.
Gross variable bill savings = cubic metres saved × [water rate + wastewater rate × billable wastewater proportion]. Standing charges, surface-water drainage, highway drainage, VAT, product cost, controller installation and blockage call-outs are excluded. No net profit or payback claim is made. Unmetered sites show no assumed bill saving. Retailer contracts, consumption bands and special local zones can differ; a bill-based estimate is preferable.
Postcodes.io supplies a postcode centroid. The app checks that point against Ofwat's April 2024 v1_5 water and sewerage boundaries, published by the House of Commons Library. This suggests the regional undertakers, not your business retailer or an address-level confirmed supplier. Boundary exceptions, newer inset appointments and postcode areas spanning a boundary may differ. Confirm both companies on the site's bill. Scotland and Northern Ireland use country-level supplier suggestions.
Method v1.0 · tariff data checked 6 October 2026. This is a scenario estimate, not an audited record of actual water savings.
Estimates depend on your inputs and site suitability. Bill savings are gross variable charges before product and installation costs. Sources and assumptions are included in the calculator and reports.
